An Unsung Man

An Unsung Man
By Matthew Bate
Description: A brief, riveting exploration of friendship, betrayal, and the nature of power. Jonah and Yeah have been friends since childhood, through playground schemes and business misadventures. But as their empire grows, admiration turns to resentment. This story shines a light on the cracks behind success, the seduction of influence, and when not to listen to The Who. Don’t read it on a work device.
Buy on AmazonThis is my short story, An Unsung Man, about a man with a great mind supporting the ego and business empire of a man with barely any mind at all. I wrote it as an origin story for the characters in my book The Seeker, which you will hear about at great length in the coming months and possibly years.
I didn't publicise this book well. I allowed Amazon to market it according to loosely defined criterea and they exposed it to their pulp-fiction grazing genre customers. If you want it to read like the worst episode of Dallas you'll be disappointed; if you want an original short modern fiction story you might be lucky...
